SUPPORT STAFF (Casual)
Job description
Wheatland Regional Centre Inc. is seeking Support Staff for casual employment in our Group Homes and Day Program.
Support Staff assist participants with personal care, life skills training, recreational, and social needs. They work in conjunction with the Day/Night Operators, Group Home Supervisors, Day Program Supervisor, and the Program Coordinator to provide quality care for the participants. Support staff are casual workers, scheduled for various shifts as well as called in as relief staff when needed. Support Staff must receive the required training and orientation before they can work the different shifts.
The preferred qualifications include the following:
A positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and pursue their life choices and pursue active participation and involvement in the community.
An understanding of the opportunities and options available to persons with disabilities; plus demonstrated cultural and ethnic sensitivity.
The equivalent of basic secondary school education supported by additional relevant training/education; preference is for individuals who have some specific training and/or demonstrated successful experience in a relevant setting.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
Be aware of and adhere to established policies, practices and operational protocols.
Must complete mandatory training (TLR, CPP&SP, First Aid with CPR, WHIMIS, and others.)
Candidates must be flexible and enthusiastic.
Clean criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license is an asset.

Remuneration: $17.45/hr.
